Jules, the proprietor, is a generous, worldly-wise, and welcoming man, who made us feel at home right away. As great as the above features were, the people really made our stay. In a 15 minute drive, you have access to several bars and restaurants, a small grocery store, river rafting, trading posts and wineries. Where else can you do that? As for the room - The beds are comfortable, the shower is spacious, and we were delighted to not have the distraction of a television in the room. We made s'mores on a bonfire and then hopped into the jacuzzi right afterward. Late at night, we walked up to the field for a fantastic view of the milky way galaxy. The property sits on the border of an old growth forest, which we greatly enjoyed exploring during the day. Our stay at the Brass Lantern Lodge was a perfect getaway. He has the right vision and drive to make this the nicest b&b in the area! More Show less There are some changes that the owner said that he would like to make to "get it how he wants it". You won't have the hustle and bustle that you would have else where near the park that you would have during the tourist season. The location is amazing! Surrounded by forest and off the beaten path. We rolled in a little late for breakfast but it was ready to go as soon as we sat down. Our room in this quaint b&b was spacious, it had a refrigerator to keep our adult beverages cold, and the hot tub was clean and ready to roll upon check in. We made the reservation and hoped for the best, we were not disappointed. We came across the brass lantern lodge after googling hot tub cabins near Leeper. But to my dismay almost everything was booked for that weekend. Well it was November and our anniversary was only a week away. During the summer it's mostly primitive camping but on occasion we will get a small cabin in the area. We spend quite a bit of time in the Cook forest area.
